‘I Didn’t Know, Wow’: Trump Left Nearly Speechless When Netanyahu Gives Him Letter Nominating Him For Nobel Peace Prize
By Michael Luciano,
13 hours agoPrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seemed to catch President Donald Trump by surprise on Monday during a meeting at the White House.
Netanyahu visited Trump for the third time already in the president’s young second term. It was the prime minister’s first since the U.S. bombed Iranian nuclear facilities last month. Steve Witkoff, Trump’s Middle East envoy, was preparing to meet with Iranian officials last month in Oman, but those negotiations were thwarted when Netanyahu ordered strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, scientists, and military leaders. Those bombings came after Trump reportedly asked Netanyahu not to strike the country.
The president, however, seemed impressed by Israel’s attacks, and subsequently ordered U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities using 30,000-pound bombs that the Israelis lacked.
