Defense Minister Andrey Belousov presided over a high-stakes review of parading formations on Red Square Saturday, specifically highlighting the participation of more than 1,000 active-duty servicemen from the "Special Military Operation" (SMO) zones. 

 

In a significant diplomatic and military signal, the parade included a dedicated contingent from the Korean People's Army (DPRK), marking a deepening of the Moscow-Pyongyang strategic alliance in 2026. 

 

Belousov, inspecting the ranks from an open-top limousine, greeted elite units from the Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School and the Peter the Great Academy of Strategic Missile Forces.
