FBI Issues Serious Crypto Warning Amid $300 Billion Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, BNB And XRP Price Crash

Recent weeks have seen a dramatic downturn in cryptocurrency values, with Bitcoin and major altcoins such as Ethereum, Solana, and XRP experiencing significant losses.

FBI Issues Crypto Scam Alert as Market Loses $300 Billion

This market dip, which aligns with broader stock market trends, has erased nearly $300 billion in value from the cryptocurrency market since late July.

The drop coincided with public comments from Elon Musk concerning Bitcoin, exacerbating the market’s volatility.

FBI Warns of Increased Crypto Scams

During these turbulent market conditions, the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has stepped forward with a critical warning about an uptick in cryptocurrency scams.

“The FBI is warning of scammers impersonating cryptocurrency exchange employees to steal your money,”

------ noted a recent post by the FBI on X, the social media platform.

They advise anyone who has fallen victim to such scams to report the fraudulent activities.

Safety First: How to Protect Your Crypto Assets
The FBI strongly advises cryptocurrency holders to remain vigilant, especially when receiving unsolicited communications about their accounts.

“If you receive a call or message indicating any kind of account problem or compromise, do not respond, even if it appears official and indicates you must act immediately,” warns the FBI.
  • They recommend hanging up and calling the cryptocurrency exchange’s official phone number to verify any claims.
  • Importantly, users are cautioned against using contact details provided by the caller and advised to access cryptocurrency exchange websites directly rather than clicking on any links sent by callers.
Rising Crypto Thefts Amid Market Chaos
The first half of 2024 has seen a substantial increase in stolen crypto, with losses nearly doubling from the previous year.
This rise is partly attributed to a few large-scale attacks and a general rebound in cryptocurrency prices from their lows in 2022.
“While we have not seen any fundamental changes in the security of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, we have seen a significant increase in the value of various tokens—from Bitcoin to Ethereum and Solana—compared to the same time last year,” explained Ari Redbord, the head of policy at TRM Labs, to Reuters.
Between January and June 2024, hackers made off with almost $1.4 billion worth of crypto, a stark increase from $657 million during the same period in 2023, as reported by blockchain analysts.
This combination of market losses and increased fraudulent activity highlights the dual challenges facing cryptocurrency investors: navigating market volatility and enhancing security measures to protect digital assets.

Now, as traders brace for a Donald Trump bitcoin "game-changer," the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued a serious crypto warning over attempts by scammers to steal users' funds.

The amount of bitcoin and crypto stolen worldwide more than doubled in the first six months of 2024 from a year earlier, mostly due to a few massive attacks and the bitcoin and crypto price rebound from 2022, according to a report from blockchain researchers TRM Labs out last month.

"While we have not seen any fundamental changes in the security of the cryptocurrency ecosystem, we have seen a significant increase in the value of various tokens - from bitcoin to ethereum and solana—compared to the same time last year," Ari Redbord, global head of policy at TRM Labstold Reuters.

Hackers stole almost $1.4 billion worth of crypto between January and June 2024, compared with $657 million in the same period in 2023, the blockchain sleuths found.

French Pole Vaulter’s Massive Penis Dashes Olympic Dreams

THE WHOLE PACKAGE

Believe it or not, it’s not the first time we’ve obsessed over a Frenchman’s bulge during this Olympic games.

The world is extending its deepest sympathies to an Olympic hopeful whose dreams were dashed on Saturday. Or, maybe, its congratulations.

You know that thing that happens all the time, where your penis is just so big it prevents you from winning a medal at the Olympics? I know, right? Same. And that’s what happened to our brother, French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati on Saturday at the Paris Games.

The 21-year-old was attempting to clear a 5.70m bar when God got in the way.

The pole vaulter appeared to have propelled past the height of the bar, but when he contorted his body around, he didn’t, apparently, give enough clearance for his, um, entire member to clear it entirely. A slow-motion video that, if we’re being honest, deserves Oscar consideration for best short film, reveals that, as Ammirati was falling back to the ground, the bulge in his spandex caught the bar. (If I had a nickel, amiright?)

I’m waiting for someone to edit it with a Looney Tunes-esque “ba-oing” sound effect.

Ammirati ended up finishing 12th in his qualifying group, but, based on what I’ve seen on social media, has won the gold medal in going viral.

“When you’re about to win an Olympic medal but your massive d*ck gets in the way while the whole world watches in slow motion,” one user on X wrote.

One Olympics fan commented on how hilariously awkward the event’s commentators were in trying to address what had happened. It’s worth a watch.

And then there were the heartfelt rounds of applause to the athlete: If they had to go out on the Olympics, at least this was the reason why.

A brief search reveals this isn’t the first time this biological issue has ruined an athlete’s Olympics. It happened at the 2016 games in Rio, too.

Guess that’s why they call it a *pole* vault. (Come see my comedy set at the Borscht Belt circa 1950.)

Bulges are, believe or not, trending this Olympics. Particularly French ones.

One of the first viral stars of the Olympics was French diver Jules Bouyer, who made international headlines when photos of his package crammed into his Speedo spread across the internet.

There’s an inherent thirst when it comes to the Olympics: These are the humans with the best bodies in the world, at the peak of athletic performance. And the lust is excused under the guise of “patriotism.” Still, it’s been humorous to see just how much attention the bulge has gotten this games versus other years. Are we more comfortable talking about it? What’s the deal?

Either way, félicitations to the French on not just hosting what’s been, so far, an excellent Olympic Games, but on your star athletes having huge dongs.
