Twenty-five years ago in Mesa, Arizona, Jim Adkins, Zach Lind, Tom Linton and Mitch Porter got together to record Jimmy Eat World’s first demo tape. Two decades later the four-piece band has recorded nine studio albums and travelled all over the world, selling out shows from New York to Amsterdam . . .
After a yearlong break at the end of 2014 the band got back together and approached its most recent album, “Integrity Blues,” with a fresh perspective. The four members all agreed that taking a year off was the best thing they could have done to get out of their creative rut.
“Taking a break was something we hadn’t done in 20 years,” Adkins said.
It allowed them to wipe the slate, take a step back and look at music through a new lens.
