Maricopa County In The News Again: This Time For a Sex Crime Prosecutor


 
 
 

Whoa!! For a place in Arizona better known for the likes of Sheriff Joe Arpaio convicted of crimes-and-pardoned-by-Trump and Mesa's own Russell Pearce shamed-out-of-office for his anti-Immigration stances, we now have snatched into the national spotlight OVERNIGHT a little known Director of The Special Victims Unit inside the Office of The Maricopa County Attorney :Rachel Mitchell. Any reasonable person might wonder if back-in-DC Senator John Kyl, acknowledged Sherpa to shove the Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh fast-forward had anything to do with the choice.

"A widely respected Maricopa County prosecutor, Rachel Mitchell, has been chosen by the Senate Judiciary Committee
to question Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. Mitchell is the sex crimes Division Chief for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
Dr. Blasey Ford has accused Kavanaugh of groping her over 35 years ago when the two were in high school.
Mitchell, who is considered a victim’s advocate, has been tapped to question Kavanaugh, and Dr. Blasey Ford on Thursday during a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley said he “is committed to providing a forum to both Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh on Thursday that is safe, comfortable and dignified. . . "
