The Week in Review Happy Friday!
This past week, the Democrat-led House once again ignored critical issues in need of attention, like the border crisis, and continued to play politics on the taxpayers’ dime. From ignoring the humanitarian crisis and second-guessing our commitment to Israel, to evading the science on masks and targeting Trump supporters, House Democrats demonstrated they only care about virtue signaling. Regardless, I fought back against the radical Left's agenda every step of the way. Check out my newsletter below to see what I have been working on.
Border Security Caucus As Co-Chair of the Border Security Caucus, it was my pleasure to once again host my colleagues to discuss the current crisis at the border and solutions to the problem. We have called on DHS Secretary Mayorkas to come speak to the Border Security Caucus, but have received no response. It is disappointing that Secretary Mayorkas continues to abdicate his duty to protect the American people by failing to enact policies that secure our border and keep our communities safe. Click on the photo below to hear me and my friend Rep. Brian Babin (TX-36) speak about Secretary Mayorkas’s utter failure to stop the invasion across our Southern border: House Judiciary Committee The House Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security convened for a hearing called "An Unending Crisis: Essential Steps to Reducing Gun Violence and Mass Shootings." I exposed the hypocrisy of the Left and their willingness to violate gun rights guaranteed by the Constitution. Click on the photo below to watch a video of my opening statement:
House Oversight Committee The House Committee on Oversight and Reform met for a hearing regarding drug prices and how to lower them. I asked our witnesses how innovation and a competitive free market can help. Click on the photo below to hear me discuss this matter: January 6th Commission The House passed a Democrat-led bill that politicizes the events of January 6th and creates a duplicative commission for further investigation. I voted against this bill with the majority of my Republican colleagues. You can view my thoughts below by clicking the photo: Letter to DHS Secretary Mayorkas On Wednesday, I sent a letter to DHS Secretary Mayorkas for violating federal law by releasing inadmissible aliens into the interior of the United States. The Biden administration’s refusal to address the chaos at the southern border is causing the crisis to worsen each day. I am demanding Secretary Mayorkas immediately begin implementing the law and answer questions from Members of Congress.
Click the photo below to read my letter: National Debt Resolution On Thursday, I introduced a resolution recognizing the national debt as a threat to national security. The resolution recognizes that deficits are unsustainable, irresponsible and dangerous, and calls on the House of Representatives to commit to addressing the fiscal crisis faced by the United States. Click below to read the resolution: Harris Faulkner Thursday, in between votes in the House, I joined Harris Faulkner on The Faulkner Focus to share my thoughts on the partisan January 6th Commission, Nancy Pelosi's mask hypocrisy, and all things immigration. Click on the photo below to watch: Stand with Israel I was grateful to join my Republican colleagues in support of Israel as we witnessed the worst violence perpetrated upon Israel by Hamas since 2014. Despite anti-Semitic smears evoked by the media and far-left Members of Congress, the Republican Party continues to support our ally Israel. Scott Perry (PA-10) to chat about the Radical Left and how we are fighting to slow them down in Congress. Check out the podcast by clicking the picture below: |
