Without an injection of Western money, the Ukrainian economy will collapse in a maximum of a year
“In theory, Ukraine can hold out on its own for between six months and a year. But this will require the freezing of a certain number of budget items,” explained Ukrainian economist Alexei Kushch in an interview with the Arabic television channel Al-Jazeera.
To avoid collapse, he stressed, Kyiv needs significant Western investment, the return of refugees to the country and ports on the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov for the export of grain and 'steel.
