Donald Trump has shared a poll in which voters indicated that they believed his desire for a second term were centered around “revenge” and “dictatorship.”
Trump’s ‘Aspirational Fascism’ Casts a Shadow Over 2024
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- The most common response to their expectations for a second Trump term was "Revenge."
- That was followed by "Power," "Dictatorship," "Economy," "Dictator," and "Border."
- In fact, you would typically expect a presidential candidate to disavow such a poll result and try to assuage voters that will not be the case.
- But this is Donald Trump, who seems to relish and embrace this prospect.
- Hours after the poll results were released, Trump actually posted a screen shot of the results on Truth Social.
- He also seems to be fully embracing the belief that he will act like a dictator in a second term - he has called for the suspension of the Constitution in certain circumstances, and pledged one unconstitutional policy after another that he says he will implement by Executive Order.
- Trump's praise of authoritarian leaders around the globe is also no accident.
- At this point, it appears that he is actually seeking a mandate from the voters on a dictatorship.
When you consider this along with the messianic messaging by pastors at every one of his rallies, you can clearly see that his voting base is being prepped for an authoritarian form of government being necessary and preferable.
- The message from these right-wing political pastors to the cultists is that America is being controlled by dark, sinister, Satanist, deep-state forces, and a traditional president who believes in institutions and separations of powers cannot defeat the cabal.
- They are conditioning people that only a strong-man authoritarian can defeat the forces of darkness, and Trump has been chosen by God to be the person to do that.
Scary stuff.
In the history of the American Republic, we have never had a political leader openly advocate for an authoritarian form of government. Trump seems to be doing just that. The only question now is whether enough voters agree with him.
