Did You Know? The Citizens of Mesa Started A Movement in 1918

TODAY IN ARIZONA HISTORY 
Sunday, December 9
On this date in 1918, the citizens of Mesa started a movement for separation from Maricopa County.
They wanted to form a new county taking in Chandler, Gilbert and Tempe.

Any historians out there might want to fill-in some gaps in the official history, but latter-day pioneers sent on a mission from Utah to expand their Kingdom of Deseret here to establish the New Zion probably had other plans for these four cities: Mormonopoly.
