Tesla's chief executive, Elon Musk, is in China on what's described as a high-stakes business trip. The entrepreneur has met Chinese foreign and trade ministers. The Biden administration is pressing US and multinational companies to move production outside of China, but Musk is expanding operations in country, which is the world's biggest electric vehicle market.
