The Twilight Zone is one of the most iconic television shows of all time. Audiences in 1959 were simply not prepared for Rod Serling’s mind-melting blend of horror, sci-fi, and speculative fiction. The show was so ahead of its time that many episodes still hold up, decades later, as fantastic standalone short films in their own right. If you want to unlock a thought-provoking door with the key of imagination, all you need is a strong internet connection and a video streaming service.
Which Streaming Services Offer "The Twilight Zone?"
The Twilight Zone originally aired on the CBS network. After decades of corporate takeovers and name changes, CBS is now part of Paramount Global, which offers the Paramount+ streaming video service. So for $5.99 per month, you can stream all five seasons of the original show.
Although CBS is the show’s network home, there are other, arguably better ways to stream The Twilight Zone. Freevee, Amazon’s free streaming counterpart to Prime Video, currently airs the five classic seasons for free. You just have to put up with ads.
Furthermore, Freevee has free, ad-supported versions of the 2019 seasons. That reboot, produced by Jordan Peele, debuted as a Paramount+ exclusive. However, the show has been removed from that service, possibly due to it being licensed to Amazon. On Amazon, you can also buy Blu-ray discs and merch to prepare for streaming’s seemingly inevitable, dystopian collapse.
Meanwhile, the 2002 Twilight Zone revival hosted by Forest Whitaker and the 1983 Twilight Zone movie are streaming free on Tubi. However, we are unable to find official streaming versions of 1985 Twilight Zone episodes—just YouTube uploads.
How to Watch "The Twilight Zone" NYE Marathon
Per tradition, several TV channels will air Twilight Zone marathons at the end of December to ring in the new year, such as H&I Network and SyFy. H&I Network's block is known as "A Toast to Twilight," while Syfy's is simply the "Syfy Twilight Zone New Year's Eve Marathon."
"A Toast to Twilight" begins on December 31 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and continues through January 2 at 6 a.m. ET/PT. The marathon features 68 episodes broadcast in back-to-back fashion.
"Syfy Twilight Zone New Year's Eve Marathon" begins a day earlier, December 30 at 8 a.m. ET. Currently, the block lacks an end date. In the past, Syfy's offering usually concluded a day or two after New Year's.
