Ukraine could receive its first F-16 combat aircraft in the summer if the current timeline for pilot and support training continues apace, Denmark’s defense minister has said. “It is difficult to set a fixed timetable for the donation of F-16 fighter jets, because there are several conditions that must be met in order for Ukraine to use the donated aircraft,” defense minister Troels Lund Poulsen said.

• Poulsen added that he expected a handover some time in summer.

In addition to pilot training, he said the proper logistics and infrastructure would need to be in place in Ukraine before delivery.
