Should Old Acquaintance Be Forgot and Never Brought-To-Mind?

Definitely NOT.
Although there are people and places we would soon choose to conveniently forget-about for one reason or another, there are certain other places and certain other people we take the time to think about. In my life your MesaZona blogger has loved them all.
In these days of hunger, national disasters and unimagined emergencies there is one person with whom I've 'lost-touch' for more than 25 years: Jose Andres
The place was New York City. The rest is history. What's he doing now? . . . Still cooking > World Central Kitchen
We all are Citizens of the World.

Like Tony Bourdain, Jose Andres is expanding how we think about Chefs.
The French word Chef simply means being 'in-charge' of everything.
He got his start arriving as an immigrant from Spain, taking over the kitchen at El Dorado Petit, starting seven more restaurants, and following the usual trajectory of so-called Celebrity Chefs. He didn't stop there . . .

I hope you are watching and realize all the chaos you’ve created separating families the way you’ve done it...No American can be proud of it!
