Apache helicopter from Utah National Guard crashes during training exercise in West Jordan

A helicopter with the Utah National Guard crashed during a training exercise in West Jordan.
  • No deaths were reported, and two pilots were treated by medical personnel and taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
Officials stated one of its AH-64D Apache Longbow Helicopters was involved in the crash at the West Jordan Army Aviation Support Facility near South Valley Regional Airport.

It happened at approximately 1:20 p.m. Monday.
The identities of the pilots were not released, but officials said one of them was an experienced senior instructor pilot.
They added that this type of training happens very often at this location — multiple times a week.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash, which remains under investigation by the federal Army.
