Arizona weather forecast: 

More record-breaking temps in Phoenix

More record-breaking temperatures are on the way as an Excessive Heat Warning rolls on in the Valley.

The high in Phoenix on Sept. 26 reached 109°F at Sky Harbor Airport at 1:15 p.m., breaking the previous high that was set in 1989.

On Wednesday, we saw a record high of 113°F in Phoenix.

An Excessive Heat Warning issued by the National Weather Service lasts through Sunday night.

"Well above normal temps continue today with highs across the lower deserts once again approaching or exceeding 110°. Record-breaking temps remain in the forecast through the rest of the week with Excessive Heat Warnings in effect through at least Sunday," NWS Phoenix wrote on X.

National Weather Service says there is a significant threat to property or life in Tohono O'odham Nation including Sells, Western Pima County including Ajo/Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, Tucson Metro Area including Tucson/Green Valley/Marana/Vail, South Central Pinal County including Eloy/Picacho Peak State Park.

1 shot in Guadalupe, MCSO says

One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being shot near Priest Drive and Guadalupe Road, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said. The suspect fled the scene after the shooting.
