VP Showdown In Salt Lake City: Crushing The Cluster or Just Another Side-Show?

Some eyes will be on Utah tonight for a stark on-stage contrast between two very different candidates separated by a Plexiglas shield and 12 feet apart. The moderator of  the 90-minute debate is Susan Page, Washington DC Bureau Chief for USA Today.

Pence-Harris Debate To Unfold As President Trump Recovers From Virus

The VP Debate is Going tPlexiglaso Feel Almost Normal. Don’t Be Fooled

". . .We don’t know what they’ll say, exactly, but you can be confident it will be smooth, serious and, behind all the Plexiglas shields, normal. Harris is a former prosecutor and a sitting U.S. senator; Pence a former governor and radio host, both public servants who know how to keep it together in front of a microphone. As they debate health care and taxes, law and order and racial justice, the right approach to Covid-19, you can expect lots of praise for what will almost surely be a civil exchange of ideas.

Don’t be fooled.

At heart, it will be an illusion, no more connected to the reality of 2020 than the Main Street at Disney World resembles a 21st-century thoroughfare. . ."
