The Greater Fool Theory

Your MesaZona blogger is enjoying a Eureka!!  moment - how to make any sense at all of politics here inside The Old Donut-Hole. It looks like The Massive Make-Over and Radical Transformation of Downtown Mesa is squarely in the hands of the mayor where everything is riding on pitches made by former "ambulance-chaser" John Giles to trick taxpayers into approving schemes without much public benefit for the private wealth creation of his closely-connected cohorts of conservative Mesa Mormon Republican Millionaires.

Mebbe John  Giles aspires to be Prince Charming or "The Re-Kindler of Hope" to revive a long-dormant site downtown called Site 17. It could be that Keynesian Beauty Principle was at work in-his-own imagination when he's featured in post two yesterday . . .

Two years ago voters in 2016 REJECTED all the Jive from Giles over ASU, overwhelmingly Voting NO on his bogus Yes1Mesa privately-financed Public Relations screw-up that blew up big time when their scheme to screw taxpayers here in Mesa was revealed to have been financed by over $500,000+ in political action committee donations that were required by law to be disclosed. That's not the end of that pitch however. . .  . the game of one upsmanship has gone into fast-forward pushing through quick entitlements and even quicker approvals through the Mesa City Council.
The catch: Voter Approval. The same group has now had two more years to sweeten-up the honey-pot with "more goodies for everybody", thanks to some scrubbing-the-books and juggling the numbers by City Hall's Office of Management & Budget in presentations April - June 2018 before the City Council and by City Manager Chris Brady who likes the good old days when taxpayers paid lots of money - over $175,000,000 in interest on bond service debt obligations over his more than 12 years holding the office of the most highly-paid Chief Executive Office of the City of Mesa. The City's finances are getting some third-party objective attention from an outside group named Truth In Accounting as you can see in the image inserted to the right >

When City Manager Chris Brady does get attention and gets challenged, he doesn't like it
"The people have been misinformed and lied to constantly. As a councilmember, I personally was mocked by the city manager citing, “fake news”. The video below was posted by a Facebook group pointing out the discrepancies in the costs. I personally find these demeaning comments from the city manager unnecessary and appallinghttps://www.facebook.com/752993211756142/videos/762107290844734/
