Here's Mesa Mayor John Giles on his high horse ready-to-ride an just another one of those goofy slips-ups emanating from his lips for a presidential visit, saying the event was a positive opportunity for Mesa to share “the great story we have.”
“This is not our first rodeo,” Giles told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Arizona’s Morning News on Monday. He likes to get in the spotlight a lot.
Like a good Boy Scout, he adds .
Mesa is well prepared for this. … We welcome the spotlight.”

"The selected site on the runway and inside a private hangar leased by International Air Response at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is a more controlled environment than city streets if there are any disruptions confronting a contentious Trump visit.
After getting caught in an open-microphone glitch calling Trump 'an idiot' during a town hall meeting staged here in Mesa last year with AZ Senator Jeff Flake, Giles doesn’t know whether he will attend the rally.
“I haven’t received the invitation
… (but) given the opportunity would love to do that.”
Who can ever forget our goofy mayor trying to pull-off another one of his public stunts at his State-Of-The-City speech back in 2014?
