Fruit-of-The-Loin: IN-BREEDING > Check Your LDS Genome

Group portrait of Joseph Smith
O, the sins of the Prophets of those self-proclaimed Latter-Day Saints, haunting the selected few generations-on to sow their seed in the promised land in The Kingdom of Deseret starting in Salt Lake City right here to mid-19th Century Mesa, second-largest urban cluster of Mormons incorporated by the founding-father Pioneers, by homesteading sections of 160 acres of land and by making water-claims to native lands and canals engineered in 'pre-history' by people-who-came-before... there's Mo' to history than that latter-day fiction . . .

Like Joseph Smith, Brigham Young was a busy man.
In addition to leading the Mormon church, he also founded a city – Salt Lake City, Utah – which flourished from a sparsely populated desert valley into a full-blown polygynous utopia in the space of a few short decades.
Alas, it didn’t last. By the 1930s, the practice had been abandoned by the church and banned by the state of Utah, making it punishable by imprisonment and a hefty fine (equivalent to around $10,000 (£7,675) in today’s money).

more human disease genes have been discovered in Utah – with its Mormon history – than any other place in the world.
It’s not the legacy Brigham Young expected
